From one perspective Claypool's reaction is a little weird. He's a soldier and he has to realize that people die in war -- he's probably seen that first hand. Casualties happen.

On the flip side, though, mass attacks on this scale, which could end up entirely one-sided, are pretty awful. No one wants to think about that, especially if you're a soldier and you can put yourself in the shoes of your enemies from experience. From that angle his reaction is entirely understandable.

Or, maybe, these could just disable enemy ships. Sure avoiding the killings is preferable, but if it comes to it, you always want to make the other guy die for his cause.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
