Past-Cornell and Past-Richter haven't used any of it yet so while Death will come along and take the lion's share (after Darkmoon steals a portion of it first... wow, this whole set of evens really got away from me over time) I'm sure there's still a little to spare for the two Current-Richters...

I need to stop having my timelines overlap.

Thu, 27 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2919: Magic Needed

I did carry Cynthia along for more than just enjoying her presence. She also gets to serve a purpose, like here. The team is getting pretty big at this point, but they also have a ship they have to deal with, so there's more to worry about. Everyone eventually will fill in their slot on the ship.

And then we get a little enjoyable "alternate takes" strip. I just had a few random lines I thought up that I couldn't really use later, so I fluffed out a fun bonus. Nothing said or done here is continuity, of course, but it's still funny.

Thu, 27 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2918: No Idle Threats

We've been circling the Stalkers for a while, but part of that was making time for them to show up since it's not exactly fast to travel through space unless you have a magical space ship. I established those rules so I have to stick to them...

Probably.

Wed, 26 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #855: Shotgun Ceremony

We've done everything in the wrong order here so while it may be ordained that Trevor and Sypha get together and have lots of Belmont babies, maybe someone should have taken more than 15 seconds to explain that to Trevor and Sypha. It's not like they just went on a long Dracula-killing adventure together, guys.

Wed, 26 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #854: Your True Love

Sypha went to Dracula's Castle at some point in the past to try and defeat the Dark Lord. Then she was defeated herself and trapped in a statue for eternity. It was only through Trevor's actions, defeating the Cyclops that guarded her, that Sypha was freed. Of course, we're doing everything out of order so it only stands to reason that once Dracula was defeated the Cyclops hoofed it out of the lands before some asshole came and killed him too.

Speaking of freeing the heroes of Castlevania III, we have to explain away what happened to Alucard. Since that guy was trapped under Dracula's dark magics (and not physically trapped as well) presumably killing Dracula broke that spell. We could say the same for Grant, too, but Grant had absolutely NO EFFECT on the future of the series at all, so fuck that guy.

Tue, 25 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2917: Uh, Ooops?

So, I don't think Gertie is gonna be coming back from this any time soon. Claypool may have done some serious damage...

Golem is gonna be pissed!

Tue, 25 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2916: Hacking In

I almost had her say "damn it, Windows 95", but we pretty well already did that joke once before. Besides, Gertie is clearly a much more advanced OS than that. At least Windows 2000, to be sure.

Mon, 24 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #854: One Last Step...

Castlevania fans will likely remember that Trevor ends up married after the events of Castlevania III. Of course he marries Sypha Belnades who is conspicuously absent from the team right now. That would be a problem for the future timeline since Sypha is kinda of important in ensuring the future of the Belmont clan exists.

Obviously we need to take care of that...

Mon, 24 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #853: Not So Smart

If the goal is simply to eliminate Richter Belmont, then yes, that would work. It would probably blow a hole in the side of causality, too, but the main job would have been accomplished. But then it would also kill the clone since he's based on the later version of Richter, and who knows what else would have changed and then we'd be in this weird time-travel arc and...

Oh, wait, we're already in one of those. Damn it...

Sat, 22 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2915: The Easy Way

Well, if the goal was the end the laughing-cum-red alert siren, task complete. Earn 500 EXP, Claypool -- you did your job. Of course, now you have to figure out how to reprogram the ship, so I hope you took points in Computer Use.

Fri, 21 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #853: Old Man Richter

Or maybe Old Man Richter just isn't in this weird blue dimension. Although, let's be honest, with how often Richter ends up here, there's probably 80 versions of him at various ages running around this place.

Fri, 21 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #852: All Better?

I do feel a little bad putting the heroes in the past storyline on the Villains side when it's been an exclusively Heroes arc. Still, I have plans and I had to fill in here a little with some comics to take up time and space. Sometimes you just have to tread water in a webcomic, and this is a total treading strip.

Richter is still funny here, though...

Thu, 20 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2914: Malfunction

I haven't checked in on Darkmoon, Angel, and Golem in a little while so I really haven't been able to balance two storylines at once. I can do it here, though, and play around the way I like. Just having one storyline is so limiting...

Ah, so Claypool fixes things the American way -- by hitting them really hard.

Thu, 20 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2913: Sprockets Protocol

Come on, you had to know her whole "I need the human touch" thing was total bullshit, right? it made no sense when you actually thought about it. This is much more reasonable.

Wed, 19 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #852: Big Finish... Sorta

As I've noted, we've done the whole "Big Dracula Death Scene" a few times. Having a big battle again just felt like a step back. I like this kind of anti-climax better, especially when Dracula is being funny like he is here.

DSWC: Always Ruining Expectations.

Wed, 19 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #851: We're All Evil Clones

You gotta think past Richter has a point. I mean, how would he really know if either of the Richters in front of him were actually real? He can't just take it on faith, right?

Tue, 18 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2912: Men At Work

There is no better way to work a character into the cast than to have them hang with the Bunny. It's a rite of passage, really. Claypool is really part of the team now.

Tue, 18 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2911: Expert Opinion

You know, it's taking the Stalkers a long time to eventually show up. Of course, they don't have anything near warp drive style technology, like the Siren, and it took the Siren weeks to get out to where the Stalkers were... so I guess that's not a big deal.

There is no better expert in anything than Bunny.

Mon, 17 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #851: Going My Way

As those that have read DSWC since the beginning (which I have to assume is everyone left at this point still reading this) will recall, this is actually the direction Richter originally went when he was first in this pocket dimension. He went left and eventually ran into Cornell who was trying to destroy the world.

Apparently Richter is going to do it for him this time around.

Mon, 17 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - Hanz is Missing

It's like the Mario is Missing title, but no one can ever be bothered to finish the game. So it's exactly like Mario is Missing.

Sat, 15 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2910: Oh Captain, My Captain

Well that's gotta sting a little...

Now if I'm wrong about this someone out there can correct me -- I'm an artist, not an expert on naval procedures and all I know about the latter topic is what I've gleaned from various movies and Star Trek. From what I know, though, ships have registers (whatever that is) and the commanding officer, the captain, is listed in the register. Yes? Right?

Fri, 14 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - Shaft's Mystery Hour

Seriously, I love making fake box art. It entertains me so. Plus any time I can reference the sexy private dick that gets all the chicks (Shaft!) I will. Props to Mab for that artwork from way back and I just keep using it.

Fri, 14 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #849: A Fine Finish

That pretty well does it for the two ladies of the past. I did just about all I wanted to do with them here and used most of the ideas I was brewing up for a little spin-off they were originally going to get. My plan was to do a distant prequel to DSWC but, as things came up and ideas fleshed out, it just seemed better to build them into DSWC this way, tell a little tale with them so we could have one last hurrah with these ladies, and then move on.

So, yeah... moving on...

Thu, 13 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2909: Modifications

Are they an effective team? No. Do they get things done? Not really. Should they have been killed centuries ago? Probably. Are they the only hope we have at this point? Sadly, yes.

Thu, 13 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2908: Technical Expertise

I will say that Gertie is proving, more and more, to be one of my favorite characters to write. There's something so freeing about a character that truly doesn't give two fucks. She's like that person on a reality show that's always like, "I'm not here to make friends." She has a job to do and she'll do it but egos will not be spared when she's on point.

Wed, 12 Apr 2017 00:00:00 -0400
