It's just been Richter and the clone fighting each other. Hard not to see this as a way to keep the real Richter occupied.

Mon, 27 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2896: Massive Force http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/comic/2017/03/27

From one perspective Claypool's reaction is a little weird. He's a soldier and he has to realize that people die in war -- he's probably seen that first hand. Casualties happen.

On the flip side, though, mass attacks on this scale, which could end up entirely one-sided, are pretty awful. No one wants to think about that, especially if you're a soldier and you can put yourself in the shoes of your enemies from experience. From that angle his reaction is entirely understandable.

Mon, 27 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #841: Deal? http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/villains/2017/03/25

We've seen Cassie fight before, and we've seen Carmilla fight before. Pitting these two together in yet another fight doesn't really add much to either of the characters so we should just go in an entirely different direction. It's fun!

Sat, 25 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2895: A Good Plan http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/comic/2017/03/24

I designed this little drone ship a while ago. It's a fun little design, especially once I get it out and flying. We'll see that eventually, but right now I at least have them introduced in the series so we can use them. Nice to have that setup.

Sprockets is actually a lot like a Star Trek RPG character I played a while ago. He was named Plasma (that was his nickname) and he rebuilt a burned out shuttlecraft into a cool little starship. His ship A.I. was named Betty, but in a lot of ways Sprockets have taken those character ideas and run with them.

Fri, 24 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #841: A Good Hit http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/dswc/2017/03/24

This is really just playing on the whole thing about how there are some bosses you know you've almost killed if you could just get that one last hit in. A lot of speedrunners have experienced that (which I've seen watching their streams) where they're always like "do I heal now or take that one last hit." Invariably if they heal the next hit after will kill the boss, but when they don't heal the boss is still strong enough to shrug off the damage.

Life is cruel sometimes.

Fri, 24 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #840: Dangerous Possibilities http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/villains/2017/03/23

When the evil clone says something is a good idea, do the opposite of that. Important to remind people where everyone is at.

It is interesting to see how this comic has evolved. For the longest time Darkmoon was, effectively, the main character with everyone else kind of gravitating around him. Over time, though, the other characters have grown in prominence until we get to chapters like this one where Darkmoon can effectively be away for almost the entire story and the comic just keeps going like it's no big deal. I like that.

Thu, 23 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2893: Big Boom http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/comic/2017/03/22

Well, it sounds like she has a plan. It's a terrible plan, one that will likely get everyone killed, but a plan is better than nothing.

Wed, 22 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #840: Good and Worse http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/dswc/2017/03/22

I gotta give the clones props. Their head games a way on point. She shows up later in the timeline which means I can't kill her off and make it stick, which is what Cassie wants. So I have to figure out how to get around that. Eventually her A.I. gained a certain kind of sentience before taking over and augmenting herself. Sarcasm and humor were a couple of the things she's added over time to make herself seem (or maybe even feel) more human.

That's not to say she's good at humor. But then that's also pretty human.

Tue, 21 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2891: Gotta Keep Moving http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/comic/2017/03/20

Either Gertie didn't get the memo that Claw isn't on the ship at this point, or she just doesn't care. He is in fact, kind of becoming a villain. So if the "evil" version of him is supposed to really be the opposite of him (good for evil and all that), than his "evil" would actually be good.

That's how that works, right?

Fri, 17 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #837: Powerful Dynamic http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/villains/2017/03/16

Neither Cassie nor Carmilla have ever managed to show they're well adjusted, mature individuals. Hell, we know from her own future timeline Carmilla still hasn't managed it. So, yeah... this is par for the course for them.

Thu, 16 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2889: Momentum http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/comic/2017/03/16

Of course the characters would suffer from some bad momentum once that gun went off. Of course, once she got her claws in and dug down, she wouldn't have to stay like that (she would have adjusted to the thrust, naturally), but probably she stayed that way out of safety.

That worked so well.

Thu, 16 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 CVRPG - #2888: Free Floating http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/comic/2017/03/15

Momentum is a funny thing. We see Claw hang out on the ship, and the starbase, and on the asteroid, and she's doesn't just magically float off despite the natural momentum of all those objects. So we have to assume she mentally forces herself to stay there. If she lost that focus... well...

Wed, 15 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Heroes - #837: Overcharge http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/dswc/2017/03/15

Most of the Belmonts are unable to do Item Crashes. Richter can (and so I let Hanz do them, too). Other than those two, though, the only other heroes that have shown the ability are John Morris and Nathan Graves, neither of whom are true Belmonts (nor to the extent that Richter could). Item Crashes are a special kind of power.

The Castlevania games have never established how Dracula reverts back to his normal form once he goes all Demon-powered. Usually he just dies which seems to solve the problem.

Wed, 15 Mar 2017 00:00:00 -0400 DSWC: Villains - #836: All Over http://www.cvrpg.com//archive/villains/2017/03/14

Hey, look at that, I managed to make the Bunny section of the storyline useful.
