#2388: Two Halves, No Whole

This Comic's Storylines:

Wilson Phillips is a '90s singing group consisting of three singes (daughters of band members from the Beach Boys and the Mamas and the Papas) and some session/touring musicians. Aside from growing up in the '80s and '90s and hearing whatever stuff played on the air at various locations around town, I never internalized what power-pop was by what band, but I'm sure we've all heard a random Wilson Phillips song at least once or twice (even if we never realized it).

I do know my sisters were into the group. Pretty certain at least one of them had a Wilson Philips album (likely vinyl, since she collected vinyl for a while). I'm straight and male, though, so I'm naturally inoculated against Wilson Phillips's music.

I'm not sure if anyone besides myself will find the punchline funny, but I had to write. Just realizing I accidentally put together, in effect, Wilson Phillips made me laugh.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
