Again, needed to explore the virus, but I wanted to do it in a way that would actually illustrate the oddities of the plague. It's a weird thing where if I had actually shown the virus as it happened, I don't know if I could have conveyed the complexity of this weird situation as well as this infograph did.

One of those weird situations where "tell, don't show" actually worked out better than how you're supposed to do it.

Magic? My first thought was "multiple virus bombs disseminated worldwide"...

Ooh, ooh, if, "Magic," and, "Biowarfare," are taken can I take, "Previously benign species suddenly turns vicious," as my guess?

Yeah, D, just because the virus spreads abnormally doesn't mean it's magic instead of the coordinated attack of a secret conspiracy.

Ooh! I was pirates! They infected the planet so they could come down with a cure of some kind so they could get paid and hero worshipped while they loot.

The reason it's not multiple bombs OR a mutation in an existing species is because it wasn't centralized. Whether a patient zero, a bomb, or a new viral strain, it would have one or more origin points and spread predictably. The thing here is that it was infecting people at random, without any contact with an origin point. That's only possible if the virus either appeared or was activated all over the planet at the same time. Thus, magic. Or some sort of network between the viruses that sent them "active" all at once, after they'd infected people invisibly, but unless the viruses are in some sort of hivemind that's not really possible.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
