#2749: Bail Out
Bunny always seems to know when Darkmoon needs help. If we analyzed it in vampiric terms, rabbits could be his animal to call (much like how Dracula could call wolves to his aid in some versions of that story), so when Darkmoon is in a pickle he calls on the Bunny.
Bear in mind I'm not necessarily saying that's the case, just that it's one possibility.
Whatever the case, we all remember that Darkie is able to create portals of his own -- that's how he gets to and fro when Katrina needs him. Bunny and Darkie are buds, so if Bunny needs a hand, Darkie is there to assist. A simple explanation.
