The comic does serve two purposes. Onc, it clearly establishes the rules for how the Fairy King's magic works. It's temporary and will fade over time. Useful information to have.
Also it lets me quickly get the heroes back on their path without a lot of stumbling around. We've stumbled around for a while, so we need to get back on track. Done and done.
