#396: Up Against a Boss

In certain games Medusa is able to stone the hero with her gaze powers. I don't recall that being in the first couple of games, and it's not consistently used throughout the series, but it is there. Plus it's a prt of mythology.
Really, the stone power is used more by the Medusa Heads, little flying heads that resemble Medusa. Very annoying.
