I know I've covered this elsewhere, but a cantrip is simply a minor spell. It's a basic chant or trick that magic-users first learn as a way to harness their power. You cast a few cantrips, learn how to tap into basic magic, and then try to increase your power and control from there.
Knowing the sprites I use, what the Sorceress cast was based in Light magic (I also have sparkles for Ice magic, but they look different).
