Really, from all we've seen in the comic, Katrina may be Shaft's only student. From that perspective, being his "best" isn't much of an achievement.
It's interesting that I had Katrina be the one who knows about this spell. Usually I let Darkmoon talk up the Black Mass Rituals, since he was part of Dracula's entourage. Although, to be fair, Katrina did have to bring Darkmoon back from Hell. She's more knowledgeable now than she used to be.
