#923: Golem's Story, Part 5

This Comic's Storylines:

Well yeah, because it seems that every hero in this series has one goal: drinking. Well, two goals if you count the acquisition of treasure. And three goals if you count getting laid (Princess is non-specific as to gender).
Now, this bit of Golem's story is a bit of a break from conventional mythology of golems. Normally, the golem just keeps doing whatever he does because those were his last orders. Or he just does what he does because the words in his head don't tell him otherwise (as per Discworld). Here, Golem gets his freedom just because.
I prefer this way, just cause it makes Golem seem more like a free agent. He doesn't have to have words tell him his free -- he's always been free, and he just needed to realize it.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
