Oh, Darkmoon.

This is something I always wondered about in the old Hammer and Universal movies. Dracula's castle is up on the hill, overlooking the town (or, in the case of the Hammer flicks, nearby, in the creepy woods, where everyone knows it exists). Everyone acknowledges their town is on Dracula's land, and he is, effectively, their liege-lord. They fear him, they respect his privacy, and they warn newcomers away (even if they continue living on the land themselves).

Yet no one ever goes after him. He feeds on them, he steals from them, he's a truly terrible person, and yet no one tries to stop him. It's always some outsider that finally does the demon lord in (until the next movie), but the townspeople just keep doing what they do.

Under those circumstances, why shouldn't Raye expect taxes or a tithe. It's just another day under the rule of a despotic vampire overload, right?

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
