I'm going off D&D terms here, although most of those armor types do actually exist (along with many, many others). The trick is plate armor, which was a whole combination of armored bits all put together to create a full suit of armor (full plate).
Field plate could (only could) be considered plate armor without the leg protections. In fantasy games it' usually upper leg and armor coverings with a breastplate (helmet optional).
Presumably, then, half-plate is just the breast plate.
