#1145: Cave Diving

Well, it stands to reason. If leprechauns always keep their gold under rainbows, that would mean rainbows always settle into the same spot. If that were the case, then people would be able to predict where leprechauns would put their gold because the gold would always be in the same locations.
Since, no matter how magical they may be, even leprechauns don't want to have to move their gold constantly because the rainbow can't sit still. The rainbow will have a fixed point, and the gold will be there, come rain or... well, rain.
And everyone knows gold is at the end of a rainbow because that's the myth. So if everyone knows it, that gold isn't going to last very long there -- humans will find it, and very soon the leprechauns will be broke.
So even if the myth had some merit in the beginnings, the leprechauns would surely have wised up after the first couple of pots of gold went missing.
