#1201: The Hero Arrives

Although I didn't play much of the Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (portable gaming doesn't really thrill me), I have to admit I really like the art style. Very pretty sprite work, and different enough from other games of the period to stand out. Very nice.

I had to check to make sure barbeque wasn't out of period for this comic. Thankfully it's a cooking style with root all the way back to the mid 1400s (barbecoa), so we're safe on that count.

Minish Cap /looks/ nice, but in the end it aside from the hero's name being Link (who ends up wearing green) and a princess needing rescued named Zelda it has nothing in common with any other Zelda title, not even Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages, or Oracle of Seasons.

Well, that's fair. Honestly, I've playerd further into the series (LA, OoT, WW, TP) but nothing since Link to the Past (excepting Four Swords Adventures) ever hooked me.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
