There may not be anything in the dungeon relevant to their quest, but that doesn't mean there aren't monsters to kill and treasures to steal. That tends to be my theory in every RPG I play -- if there's experience to earn, I'll kill every monster I come across (and take whatever items they drop when they explode into a fine, pink mist).

Sure, it's not useful from a story-telling perspective, but if I want to avoid hours of level-grinding when I finally find the place I'm looking for, then I'm just gonna have to fight everything I can along the way (all at once or distributed grinding, one way or another).

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
