#1801: Not Always Wrong

This Comic's Storylines:

This is actually something I touch upon in the RPG I wrote, There's a Game in this Book. Although the bestiary is called There are Monsters in this Book, "monster" is really a subjective term. Most of the creatures in the book have their own lives, their own needs, and most of them aren't out-and-out evil -- they just gotta do what they do. Killing them is a matter of circumstance and the needs of a quest, not just something you do because you can.

Its something most video game RPGs don't really touch upon. There's a monster, so kill it. Chrono Trigger is the only RPG I've seen that comes close insofar as they have a village of monsters and they don't immediately try to kill you... although those same monsters out in the field do. So, yeah...

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
