You're not supposed to say things like that in front of the villain, Katrina.
To be fair, though, it's not in the best interests of the Sorceress to engage the heroes in a fight at this juncture. Sure, she has them over a barrel since Alec is mixed up in the affair and if she dies, Alec effectively dies. But, if she were to attack the heroes they may be forced to kill her anyway (if they have the ability to do so). If she's trying to avoid dying before she finishes her big plan, a confrontation is not in her best interests.
