Color Spray does only work on enemies below a certain level (and I don't believe it's within the context of the hero -- I think literally if they are over a certain specific level it won't work on them). The knight must be above that level.
I wonder how the knight is going to attack since the Chrono Trigger sprites of him don't provide any attack frames. Hrmmm...
