I know the word "fuck" descends from French and Anglo Saxon, but one day I'll have to try and find out where the word "bugger" comes from. I'd be willing to bet it has similar roots. All the best curse words do.

I'm pretty sure that bugger started as a noun- specifically derived from the french form of Bulgar (the east European people), which was used by the French (and later the English) to mean a heretic. So calling someone a bugger was (originally) calling them a heretic. It seems to have got the later "anal sex" connotation via people saying "I don't like heresy... or gay sex... so they're the same!" Whee?

Damn. Learn something new every day. Thanks!

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
