All three of those happened in pop culture. The immortals were from an episode of Highlander (in fact, for some reason it was one of only two episodes I saw and it stuck with me). Princess was talking about an episode of Doctor Who (New Who, specifically). The pagan ceremony was from a game, TimeScape (the only reference I had to look up, as I never played the game).

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
