#2347: A-Sides, Deep Cuts

This Comic's Storylines:

While I'm fine with remix albums, bands should not tour in support of them. Sure, it's one thing if the remix album comes out when the band is already on tour -- that's just a bonus fans can ignore. But bands shouldn't release a remix (or special editions) of their albums and then go on tour again. Give us new material.

I had to rip on the Eagles here. The three biggest albums in the world are Michael Jackson's Thriller, Pink Floyds The Wall and the Eagle's Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975). Thriller I'm not going to argue with -- that is a great fucking album. And there are people that really dig The Wall (although I find it to be pretentious bullshit). But what the hell were we, as a society, thinking when we made a greatest hits album one of the biggest in the world?

And it doesn't even have Hotel California on it, arguably the only song from the Eagles anyone cares about. The hell is that, people? We should all be ashamed!

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
