#2497: What a Shithole

This Comic's Storylines:

So yeah, we've kinda wrecked Earth. That's not a global warming perspective (although I'm in the camp that it's happening) but just a simple perspective of resources. If we were suddenly pitched back the stone age and had to rebuild all of civilization from scratch with the planet (and planetary resources) we have right now we wouldn't be able to -- we've used up too much of it.

But hey, that's what other planets are for. All we have to do is go out and colonize them and we can ignore Earth altogether. Heck, if we do it right, we might be able to maintain a certain equilibrium with their planetary environs and keep them going indefinitely (you know, unlike this rats nest we call a planet).

For some inexplicable reason, this arc reminds me a little of the BBC's Red Dwarf tv show. Prolly just the mining-outer-space bit, I guess? [shrugs]

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
