#2755: Some Limitations

This Comic's Storylines:

This Comic's Cast:

Something I haven't really touched upon (not since Year One) is that Darkmoon doesn't really kill people. I've actually gone out of my way to make sure the heroes almost never kill humans. Humanoids, undead humans, sure. Bad guys. But your average, normal humans... Nope.

Now, of course, he does feed on humans. Most of the time it's willing subjects, like the barmaids. But he doesn't feed to kill -- that's a line he doesn't cross. And that goes double for all the rest of the heroes in my comics.

So, sure, they'll fight the soldiers, but they'll likely find some way to pull their punches so the humans don't die.

Little style thing, it might help to have some slight expression changes for characters. The soldiers for example seem really robotic with their rather blank faces even while attempting to shoot people to death. This may be intentional because they are mind controlled (I think so, anyway. It's a little unclear), but even just tweaking their eyebrows a bit to be more intense (like Darkmoon has pretty much all the time) would help to give a little expression during combat.

I don't tend to do expressions for most of the generic NPCs, such as the soldiers, but other characters (the heroes, many of the names NPCs) tend to have a few sets of expressions. Part of it is just mirroring the genre I'm playing in -- Playstation-era RPGs.

So, Angel is "fast" and Darkmoon is "furious." Zing! Yeah, I SO noticed the totally obvious new section entitled "this Comic's Cast." Not sure if the "This Comic's Storylines" is new though. . . But. . . They're seriously listed in the character pages as "2 Angel" and "2 Darkmoon!?"

If you note the news on the front page, the cast are currently being added to the archives as I go through. Since they're arranged alphabetically, I have been putting numbers before the hero names so they show up at the top of my list (to make my process easier). The numbers will eventually go away, making this comment (and my response) obsolete. ;)

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
