I dunno that Golem weights exactly two tons. I'm sure someone has made a life-size human-shaped lump of ceramics, and I doubt it's actually two tons exactly (standard or metric). But I'm sure it was very heavy. We can chalk the rest up to a little colorful exaggeration on his part.

After about ten minutes of googling and playing with a density calculator, assuming Golem is on the upper end of the scale and has the same volume as a human, I have come to the conclusion that he should weigh just over one ton.

My calculations say he probably only weighs between about a quarter and third of a ton. Based on the density of ceramics.
