We don't really do a lot with side quests in this comic, but any normal RPG game would have them. We can consider the work Angel and Claw were doing as a side quest, and they really failed at it. Normally an RPG would let them retry the quest, but I'm a mean, mean person. Why let them try again at anything.
It's better to have them fail and learn noting from the endeavor.
