#3292: It's Not a Coup If You're In Charge

If you're wondering why Claudette and Golem had to be transported back and forth to the space station in this manner when Claudette could probably have opened a small portal and teleported them, I do try to have the mages follow the same rules for their portals as the rules governing Angel. Considering the proximity from the ship to the space station (and to the planet), the fact that Ceres no longer exists, and that the ship is presumably still moving, it didn't seem right for anyone to be able to use a portal to get back and forth. This was the best solution.

The portal logic makes sense, not to mention that Claudette also uses Wild Magic like Katrina, right? Angel's portals are probably more stable, being Divine Magic, even if he needs a planetary anchor for them. Katrina's and Claudette's might work more like Angel's if his were on the fritz like earlier when he tried to flail around the ship. ...Unless I'm mistaken somewhere on that.

Certainly, and it's also important to make sure that they are power-balanced in comparison to the other characters. I don't want it to feel like giving them access to portals is some kind of god-mod. Honestly, after 800 years you'd just expect Katrina to have cracked how to do portals by now.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
