#3523: A Commanding Presence

This Comic's Storylines:

So here we have another batch of new retro sprites. Of them, Blacula is the least interesting mostly because I just took Alucard's sprite from CV3, changed the colors from reds to browns (to match Blacula's normal style in the comic) and then gave him little sideburns (since Blacula has more facial hair than Alucard). It's subtle, but since all the vampires in Dracula's lineage (of which, as a vamp he sired, Blacula counts) have the same basic style, this made sense.

Raye isn't from Castlevania classically so I felt free to explore other avenues. Her sprite is actually the vampire from Monster in my Pocket. I recolored her and gave her hair (since the vampire in that game is more of a Nosferatu). The results look good, I think, if not drastically different from the source). It did make Raye taller than the other sprites, but maybe she was always just this tall (something Blacula alludes to).

Finally, Actrise is based on a Fire Emblem witch. I changed the dress up some, recolored her hair (to make it lighter) and gave her a jaunty hat (to match Actrise's own style). All in all, not a bad edit job for a few quick and dirty scenes.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
