I like the fact that Death feels the need to air-quote idioms, or say things like "as you would say"... Puts him above the quirks of the language, making him seem smarter than everyone else.

Presumably he is actually smarter than everyone else, but the bar is set so low in that case by the rest of the characters.

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
