#439: An Old Fashioned Guy

This Comic's Cast:

Fighter (Eric) has some very set ways about how a quest should work. I mean, look at his game:

Two beat the game you have to defeat Chaos. To get to Chaos, you have to restore the Four Crystals of Light, and to do that you have to defeat the four elemental Fiends. Even to get to the first fiend you have to fight to gain your freedom from your initial kingdom, then fight to get a boat, then restore the crown to some kid in Elfland (which requires killing some evil king somewhere else), all so you can get some TNT and blow a hole in a lake to get out into the ocean.

All so that you can FINALLY get to the island that has the first of the fiends. But, on no, you can't fight him yet. First you have to defeat a vampire, get some other random treasure, and finally open the pathway to the fiend.

That's a lot of fetch quests and defeating things just to get one of four crystals lit up. But it does show what Eric's expectations actually are,

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
