In case you were wondering, Nathan and Samus are battling some custom Space Pirates I found during my internet travels. I'd give credit to the original artist, but unfortunately I have no clue where I found the sprites (even after trying to find them again), and the signature on the sprite sheet is incomprehensible.
Note to all sprite artists: if you want people to credit you for your work, make sure to use a legible font.
The battle background is from Demon's Crest. It has an appropriately Castlevania-ish feel while being in no way from a Castlevania game (I sneak maps in from Demon's Crest whenever I can -- dig that Gothic vibe).
