Far as I can remember, Shatter (a spell from D&D) is used against glass objects. It's a fairly low level spell, obviously because you've done with magic would could have been done with a hammer, or through basic clumsiness.
What you aren't supposed to do is use Shatter to blow the armor off a monster, or, say, use Shatter to collapse and opponent's skull. I may have done that last one.
