Well I did make her a thief. Once in a while she has to use her thief powers, otherwise they revoke her membership card in the thieves guild.
Besides, if we didn't go this way I'd have to start sprinkling keys around and they'd be searching for hours. We already did that riff -- Castlevania RPG Gaiden -- so I think we're good skipping all that rigamarole.
