While one could argue I was dragging this plotline out longer than needed, in all honestly this was just what Darkmoon told me to do. They went out to find Golem a cave, and so Darkmoon lost all bearing on where he was (which doesn't take much).
Now that they've managed to get back to town finding the Borgo Pass should be a piece of cake -- head east for a bit and suddenly you're there (as per CVRPG Gaiden, since that's all it took for Alec and Darkmoon to get there in that game).
But, if you want to know the first thing Darkmoon would do on a quest to find and stop Dracula, that's an easy answer: he'd stop at the pub for a pint. Sooner or later he'll get to Dracula's castle, but this ale isn't going to drink itself!
