How does Golem know all this? As we've established, Golem has a lot of time on his hands and when he's not on an adventure, or upgrading his body, he has to find some way to spend his time (since, up until recently, he couldn't have sex and he certainly didn't get anything from drinking or carousing). While some of you may be able to suggest other activities Golem could get up to, I always imagined him as a voracious reader when he wasn't on a quest.

That's how Golem knows all this: he studies. A lot. If there's information to pick up, Golem will pick it up. It gives him a purpose on the team other than just being a shield for the attackers. Plus, someone has to pay attention to what's going on in the universe.

Why can't the soldier talk about it? Maybe because he doesn't know what causes it, or has been explicitly ordered not to talk about it. Or maybe that Golem suggestion, while right on the surface, doesn't apply to what's going on with Horus. It's just an explanation.

Sadly this isn't the only wall of explanation I'm going to have to do yet...

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
