Hey, Golem know what's needed. And since the other heroes bailed, it's pretty easy for him to move about and do his job since he doesn't have to defend the others (or worry about them getting in his way). Really, when you think about it, problem solves, eh?
Gotta love how he just grabs the damn gun out of that guy's hand. Pretty direct action.
