#1: How to Revisit a Webcomic

This Comic's Cast:

Okay, so I warned new readers twice now to go read the original series first. Sure, you can read Villains without having read DSWC -- I'm writing it as a stand-alone sidequel -- but these commentaries will treat you like you read the original series. If you don't want spoilers, go read that series first... or at least ignore the commentaries.

As we see here, we get the first comic of DSWC, which setup the first couple of adventures in the series, but instead of lingering with the hero, we stay with the villain. It's all about the villains, baby.

Also, for those that are curious, the comic is going to be told in the CVRPG art-style almost exclusively. DSWC switched to it by the end of its run, and it feels appropriate to stay in that style here.

I do recognize that I changed the dialogue of the original comic a little. It's been 10 years since I wrote that comic. I'm allowed.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
