#452: Concentration

This Comic's Storylines:

This is really a play on two factors. For one, Katrina is just not a strong warrior at all. Her pathetic little hits wouldn't be able to do much damage at all. She could wail on it for hours and never kill it.

Also, in some action games (although, right now, none that spring to mind), if you can manage to continue hitting an opponent before it hits the ground (a juggle, technically), it won't die and you can continue to attempt hitting it, over and over.

For the record, I never understood how, if a magic spell has to be cast a specific way, with the right words said each time, then if a wizard gets hit, why don't they have to start the casting process over?

You're a D&Der and you can't figure that out? It's called Concentration, with enough of it you can continue right on despite being wailed on. Although, you might want to try playing Ar Tonelico I or II, in those two there are consequences for failing to protect your casters. Well, Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel and Ar Nosurge, Ode to an Unborn Star also have consequences, but they're not as .....spectacular..... as the first two titles, and certainly not as much of an inconvenience most of the time.

Still seems like a cheat. ;)

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
