I really wanted to do dual attacks once or twice. The Dual and Triple techs in Chrono Trigger were an awesome application of a spell system, and I thought CVRPG should have something like that.

Of course, the issue is that I didn't decide to put them in until after Game 1. I got impatient and wanted them in Year One instead of just waiting until Game 2... so they became a bit of mythology (which we'll focus on a bit later).

Thing is... I never have them cast the same dual attack twice when they do cast one. I always forget where I made them, and then get too lazy to go searching back through the archive.

As it stands, that sort of situation happens a lot.

Actually that felt more like the 'merged spells' effect of Star Ocean: The Second Story (which was removed for its remake Star Ocean: Second Evolution, they royally screwed with the combat system and magic system there) rather than the Dual Techs of Chrono Trigger.

Well, come of the Chrono Trigger effects were more "merged" than simply "at the same time". Marle and Lucca's Antipode spells were certainly more than the sum of their parts and, while not technically a spell, Crono and Frog's X-Strike causes effects neither can produce on their own. ;)

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
